Accessibility
Our goal: WCAG 2.1 level AA. Here is where we stand.
1. Commitment
We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible. The target level is WCAG 2.1 level AA.
2. Conformance status
This site has not, to date, undergone an independent audit. It was designed against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria and checked with our own automated and manual checks (links, images, headings, calculated contrast). We regard it as working towards conformance, without claiming certified conformance.
3. Measures in place
- “Skip to main content” link and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer).
- Consistent heading hierarchy, a single level-1 heading per page, breadcrumb trail.
- Fully keyboard-operable, visible focus indicator, logical tab order.
- FAQ accordions built as buttons with
aria-expandedandaria-controls. - Alternative text on informative images; decorative icons hidden from screen readers.
- Touch targets of at least 44 px; layout adapted from 320 px to 1440 px, no horizontal scrolling; text zoom up to 200%.
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion(animations removed) andprefers-color-scheme(dark by default, light mode supported). - Page language declared, language switch announced.
4. Measured contrast
Values calculated with the WCAG formula (the repository's tools/contrast.py script).
